Kojic Acid assist in skin lightening applications and is produced as a by product in the fermentation of malted rice. It is an off-white colour.
Skin lightening creams and serums
Can be used in concentrations of 1-3% and should be added to the water phase of a formula. Warmer water helps to dissolve but hot water can cause it to lose its activity. Kojic acid can easily oxidise and can be addes with BHT or vitami E acetate to reduce oxidation.
