Description
Description
Aristoflex AVC is a synthetic polymer used as a gelling agent for aqueous systems and as a texturizer and thickener for oil-in-water emulsions. It is pre-neutralized, easy to use and provides formulations with excellent yield value, corresponding to superior stability even in the absence of additional emulsifier
INCL
Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer
Application
Personal care and Cosmetics
Uses
Can be used in concentrations of 0.5-1.2%. It can be used to prepare O/W emulsions in both hot and cold process. Aristoflex® AVC is typically added to the oil phase (comprising emollient and emulsifier), slight agitation facilitates dispersion. Any small
aggregates can be broken up easily with gentle stirring. The mixing reactor should be completely dry of moisture to prevent the polymer from migrating prematurely to any water already present and becoming gummy. It can also be added to water formulas to create clear gels with good agitation. Not suitable to thicken surfactant systems.
Benefits
- Good stabilization, thickening properties
- Fresh and light skin feel
- Cold-processable
- Emolliency/improved spreading

The best gelling agent I have ever used. It worked out so great in my gel moisturizer and even gelled with aloe vera juice in it. It gels very fast and does not “rub off” like some of the other natural gelling agents I’ve used.

I used suggested amounts but did not thicken as much as recipes I followed – That said it was american recipes – maybe the south african aristoflex is not as strong?
