Gloss Base – Lustregel

Lustregel is a clear, medium-viscosity gel base suitable for oil-based cosmetic formulations. It provides a smooth, glossy finish and is ideal for suspending pigments and blending with oils in lip glosses and other lip products.

Lustregel can be combined with cosmetic oils, oil-soluble colorants, pigments and oil-soluble actives to create customised lip products.

Adjusting the Consistency

Lustregel has a naturally thick and tacky texture, which helps provide good adhesion and gloss on the lips. If the finished product feels too thick or sticky, a small amount of cosmetic oil can be added to improve slip and adjust the consistency.

Suitable oils include:

• Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (CCT) – a lightweight option that helps improve slip and reduce tackiness.
• Jojoba Oil – provides a smooth, conditioning feel.
• Sweet Almond Oil – adds softness and emollience.
• Castor Oil – commonly used in lip products to provide richness and shine.
• Sunflower Oil – provides a softer, more emollient feel.
• Squalane – a lightweight option with an elegant skin feel.

Add the chosen oil gradually in small amounts, mixing thoroughly after each addition until the desired consistency and feel are achieved. Adding too much oil may reduce the viscosity and pigment-suspending ability of the gel.

Repacking

Due to its gel texture and viscosity, it is recommended to use a syringe when transferring or repacking Lustregel into smaller containers or lip gloss tubes. This allows for cleaner and more accurate filling.

Air Bubbles

Due to the production and filling process, visible air bubbles may be present in the gel. This is normal and does not affect the quality or performance of the product.

Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Isododecane, Isopropyl Myristate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Paraffinum Liquidum, Tocopherol, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate.
